INTRODUCTION

Neil and Oretta, the day you have been planning, waiting for, preparing your heart for, for so long, has finally arrived.

The moment you have been anticipating for so long, when you two would come together side by side before God…

taking vows of love and faithfulness… Being joined together before God as husband and wife.

INTRO MESSAGE

Marriage is ordained by God and it’s a beautiful and special relationship…

in which two persons enter into the deepest, most intimate, the most abiding relationship…

that can be experienced on the human level, the relationship of husband and wife…

God said, “for this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they two shall become one flesh.”

You see Neil, In the beginning, when God first created man, God recognized that man by Himself can never be complete.

It was God who said…

Genesis 2:18 – It is not good that the man should be alone; So God created the woman…

In order that there might be completeness, companionship, love and beauty…

God brought her to Adam, and she became his wife.

So, God not only ordained marriage, He planned the first wedding and presided over the whole occasion.

Neil and Oretta, we believe that God has planned that the two of you would be standing before Him, just now, here today…

And He presides over this whole occasion as you, Oretta, become Neil’s wife.

WILL YOU TAKE EACH OTHER?

Neil, will you have Oretta to be your lawfully wedded wife, to live together after God’s ordinance in the holiest state of matrimony…

Will you love her, honor her, and forsaking all others keep only unto Molly so long as you both shall live?

NEIL’S RESPONSE – I WILL

Molly will you have Tyler to be your lawfully wedded husband, to live together after Gods ordinance in the holiest state of matrimony…

Will you love him, honor him, and forsaking all others keep only unto Tyler so long as you both shall live?

RING EXCHANGE –

(Ring Bearer Gives Rings to Pastor)

Throughout the years, a ring has been used to symbolize eternity.

As you look at it, there is really neither beginning or ending, it just goes on and on in an endless cycle…

So it spoke to man about that state of existence that would just go on and on so he used the ring to symbolize the eternal state…

But, through the years the ring has also been used as a pledge

When an agreement or a covenant had been made between two parties…

One party would take their ring and offer it to the other as a pledge to provide a guarantee of their intention of keeping that covenant.

AS GROOM GIVES RING TO BRIDE

So Molly, this ring is first of all a symbol of the love that Tyler is promising to you…

a love that is just to go on and on and on.

But, it is also the pledge that Tyler gives to you…

whereby he signifies his intention of keeping these vows that he has taken before God.

So, as you wear this ring and you see it there on your finger, to you it will be a very beautiful reminder of this afternoon…

when Tyler, standing here before the Lord and with his promise to love, placed it there on your finger…

PASTOR GIVES RING TO GROOM AND TYLER PLACES IN ON BRIDE’S FINGER

So Tyler, if you’ll place the ring on Molly’s finger and repeat these words…

Pastor: Wear this ring, Molly
Groom: Wear this ring, Molly

Pastor: As a pledge of my love to you
Groom: As a pledge of my love to you

Pastor: For with this ring
Groom: For with this ring

Pastor: I thee wed
Groom: I thee wed

Pastor: In the name of the father
Groom: In the name of the father

Pastor: and of the son
Groom: and of the son

Pastor: and of the holy spirit
Groom: and of the holy spirit

AS BRIDE GIVES RING TO GROOM

Tyler, now in this same way, this ring becomes the symbol of the love that Molly is promising to you…

Her love is just to go on and on…

It also is the pledge that Molly is giving to you whereby she signifies her intentions of keeping these vows she has taken before God.

So, as you wear this ring and you see it there on your finger, to you it will be a very beautiful reminder of this afternoon…

when Molly, standing here before the Lord and with her promise to love, placed it there upon your finger…

PASTOR GIVES RING TO BRIDE AND BRIDE PLACES IT ON GROOM’S FINGER

So bride, if you’ll place the ring on groom’s finger and repeat…

Pastor: Wear this ring, Tyler
Bride: Wear this ring, Tyler

Pastor: As a pledge of my love to you
Bride: As a pledge of my love to you

Pastor: For with this ring
Bride: For with this ring

Pastor: I thee wed
Bride: I thee wed

Pastor: In the name of the father
Bride: In the name of the father

Pastor: and of the son
Bride: and of the son

Pastor: and of the holy spirit
Bride: and of the holy spirit

PRAYER

Father, we thank you for this very special moment…

that we are privileged to share with Tyler and Molly.

This moment when standing before you they are united as one and become husband and wife.

Thank you for that love that your placed in their hearts that brought them to this place of standing before you today.

Lord, we pray that you would seal, now, the vows that they have taken today with Your love, with Your Spirit

And, may the love that drew them here, may it only increase and may it grow with each passing day…

that their lives, Lord, might be fully enriched in their love for you and their love for each other.

Lord, bless the home that they establish, and fill it with Your joy and the consciousness of Your presence.

In Jesus name we pray… AMEN

CLOSING

The Bible says, those who God has joined together, let no man separate…

Forasmuch as you, Tyler and Molly have consented together in Holy wedlock…

You’ve witnessed the same before God and in the presence of this company…

and you’ve declared your love for each other while joining right hands…

you have given and received the rings…

So, according to the authority that’s been vested in me by the state of Iowa

and by the church of our Lord Jesus Christ…

I declare that Tyler and Molly are now husband and wife…

In the name for the father, the son, and the holy spirit, AMEN

CLOSING MESSAGE

The scriptures are all about Jesus Christ

How He gave his life willingly on the cross for sinners because of His rich love…

GROOM

God says that:

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends

In that same way as Christ laid down his life for us, His friends, on the cross…

God says…

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

BRIDE

As you have gladly surrendered your life to Jesus Christ

You now are surrendering your life to Tyler

For God says to wives:

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

GROOM

The Lord wants you to be the spiritual leader in the home…

to minister to Molly the things of the Spirit…

And as a spiritual leader, ministering to your wife…

I want you to follow and submit to Gods Holy Word in leading your house, praying together, worshiping together, glorifying God with your marriage…

Assuming the best of one another, ministering grace, mercy and self-sacrificing love to one another…

God has given His instructions for a harmonious marriage…

Let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Love and respect, both drawing closer and closer to Jesus Christ as you in turn grow closer and closer to one another…

KISS THE BRIDE

And now…

Groom and Bride…

Groom, you may kiss your bride…

It is my privilege to present to you at this time…

Mr. and Mrs. Groom’s first and last name
