What the Power of Jesus’ Resurrection Means to Us

  1. The power of the assurance we will see again those who have died in Christ. – 1 Thessalonians 4:14 – For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
  2. It is the power over a guilty conscience – Romans 8:1 – There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
  3. It is the power over the fear of death – 1 Corinthians 15:55 – “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”
  4. It is the power of the proof that we are saved. – Romans 4:25 – who was delivered up because of our offenses and was raised because of our justification.
  5. It is the power that we will experience a literal, bodily, resurrection. – 1 Corinthians 6:14 – And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.
  6. It is the power that produces Christ-likeness in us – Galatians 5:22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
  7. It is the power that brings you from spiritual death into spiritual life – Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
  8. It is the power of a new life that is not dominated by sin – Romans 6:4 – Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
  9. It is the power to accomplish God’s calling on your life regardless of outward circumstances – Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
  10. It is the power to truly change – Romans 12:1-2 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what [is] that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
  11. It is the power to be a godly husband, wife, parent, child, single… it is the power to live God’s best for your life, obedient to His will, and victorious over sin and darkness…
  12. It is the very power of Christ in us – Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
